Great Plains. The Great Plains shelter some of the most extensive and important freshwater wetlands in America.

Like this enormous wetland that I'm in here in central Nebraska, in the Sandhills.

And these wetlands have everything you think of being in a wetland elsewhere, including frogs.

A very beautiful frog right here. This is a leopard frog. An incredibly tame leopard frog.

And leopard frogs like this one are, throughout their range, dependent on wetlands like this.
